Katie is a self-taught mixed media artist who finds her intuitive style of creating art to be a potent way of connecting with her true nature and staying in touch with her heart.
She thrives on open-ended art making and is continually delighted and surprised by the unexpected results inherent in the creative process. An article about her folk art dolls was recently featured in the mixed media periodical Cloth Paper Scissors, and her work has been published in issues of Somerset magazine and Artitude Zine.
Katie Kendrick lives along the banks of the Tahuya River in western Washington, surrounded by state forest.
The peaceful beauty of the nature that surrounds her is a constant source of inspiration and nourishment for her creative spirit. She finds art making to be one of the most powerful ways to connect with her innermost essence while at the same time discovering her authentic voice.
She enjoys the experimental and intuitive layers of creating, where she can explore inner and outer worlds simultaneously and she has a passion for sharing her love of creating with others.
Katie teaches mixed media workshops nationwide and has been featured in several books and magazines
She is also is a contributing artist in the newly released book Artist Trading Card Workshop by Bernie Berlin.
