There are infinite possibilities when using digital media to create mixed media art and journals.

This workshop will explore a multitude of ideas for using and creating digital prints, patterns and textures for use in journals.

Participants will experiment with their images to create pages and elements that can be printed from any ink jet printer.

We will explore the creation of art journals from textural covers to individually inspired content.

Participate and create your own signature journal from the multitude of innovative ideas demonstrated and discussed.

Supply List

AN- next to supply means it is available at The Artists' Nook

General art supplies, glue, gel media, scissors or cutter, drawing materials.

Any digital prints or images you would like to include in journal pages. A large assortment if possible. Make sure these are not originals that you want to keep.

We can also print some small images from your files in jpg form for a .75 charge a print. I will give a little demo on how to take your printer and print "on the go."

I will have hand-dyed watercolor paper to use for the pages of the journal that can be purchased, or you can bring you own pages that have been painted or dyed before class.

These will be small journals and I like to use a heavy weight paper to handle the collage. Mine are around
4" x 5" pages depending on how they are assembled. The pages can be 4" x 10" so they could be folded, or cut 4" x 5" for a loose leaf journal.

An assortment of odds and ends that can be used in journal pages, found objects, twigs, the pages may be complete collage, or you may leave room to write and draw.

You can also bring magazine pictures, words, coloring book pages etc to use as digital images and to create patterns. The more choice you have the better.

As for the covers, any types of material scraps, paper, paper bags, reused packaging, what you like, what you want to use that says "you".

Basic Tool Kit contains: Scissors, or craft knife & cutting mat, pencil, , metal or metal edged ruler, and any other goodies you like to use..
