Christine says: "Pictures cannot describe the techniques and inspiration that Kathyanne will show us in these workshops. Trust me this will be an pivotal turning point in your artwork for those who want to incoorporate their own imagery and others into their artwork. Kathyanne is the up and coming forerunner in this art medium. A sure treat for all."

Texture is a scrumptious element to add to journals and mixed media art journals.

This workshop is designed to produce extremely interesting textural surfaces by using all sorts of materials.

Examine surface design ideas and develop unique surfaces of your own. There is no end to the way materials can be manipulated to create interest and texture in the surface of your artwork.

We will use fabric, digital prints on various surfaces (be sure to bring photographs and prints that you don't mind altering) and an assortment of items.

Discover the techniques that work the best for you and take the time to create your own signature.

Supply List

AN- next to supply means it is available at The Artists' Nook

General art supplies such as glue, scissors, cutters, needle, different types of thread, yarn, buttons, any small items to add texture to your surface.

Sometimes I like to use gel media to join items together.

Assortment of fabrics in small pieces, canvas, digital prints, photographs you don't care if you cut and tear up, papers, wire, hemp cord, colored cheesecloth, burlap, be creative.

You will not need a great amount of any of these things, small pieces will do.

Use your judgement of some of the materials you will want to work with. If you would like to make some interesting surfaces of a certain size, plan your supplies accordingly.

I will bring items for purchase that are optional. You can also choose from a scrap bin I will have there.

Basic Tool Kit contains: Scissors, or craft knife & cutting mat, pencil, , metal or metal edged ruler, and any other goodies you like to use..
